စွန့်ဝင် အခွန်နှင့် အမြှောက်အတင်း (Taxes)

During international shipping, customs duties, GST, and other related taxes may apply depending on the regulations of the destination country or region. Whether these fees are required, as well as the amount and how they are charged, will depend on local customs policies, the shipping method, and the contents of the parcel.

Unless otherwise stated for certain countries or shipping methods below, Doorzo does not collect customs-related fees on behalf of customers. If duties or other customs clearance procedures are required during shipping, the recipient must handle them according to the instructions of local customs or the logistics provider. Any related taxes and fees shall be borne by the recipient.

This section briefly explains the possible taxes and fees involved in Doorzo's international shipping process, including the rules for DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) and GST, to help you better understand the fee structure, estimate shipping costs in advance, and avoid possible delays caused by tax issues.

Malaysia – Sales & Service Tax (SST)

Sales & Service Tax (SST) is imposed on eligible imported goods shipped to Malaysia in accordance with Malaysian tax regulations.

Policy Background & Effective Date

  Details
Policy Background Under Malaysian tax regulations, Low Value Goods (LVG) imported into Malaysia are subject to Sales & Service Tax (SST).
Effective Date This policy applies to eligible parcels shipped on or after January 1, 2026.

Tax Rate & Applicable Threshold

  Details
Tax Rate A 10% SST applies to items with a unit price of MYR 500 or below.
Threshold Determination The unit price is based on the amount shown on the invoice, and will be converted to Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) using the applicable exchange rate at the time international shipping is selected. If the unit price is below MYR 500, 10% SST will be applied to the item value.

Tax Calculation Basis

*SST is calculated solely based on the unit price of each item and does not include international shipping or other related fees.

Unit Price Items
Includes
  • The unit price as shown on the invoice (Example: If a parcel contains three figures priced at MYR 200 each, the total parcel value is MYR 600. However, since each item's unit price is below MYR 500, a 10% SST will be applied to each item.)
  • The amount will be converted to MYR using the applicable exchange rate at the time of international shipment.
  • The invoice item value reflects the actual amount paid after coupon or discount deductions.
Excludes
  • International shipping fees
  • Insurance fees
  • Other delivery-related charges

Payment Method

Collection Method Details
Prepaid Collection For items with a unit price of MYR 500 or below, SST will be collected together with international shipping fees at checkout.
Post-Delivery Collection For items with a unit price above MYR 500, SST will not be collected by Doorzo. If applicable, taxes will be charged by the local delivery company at the time of delivery.
*The recipient must complete payment before the parcel can be released. For questions regarding the amount charged, please contact the local delivery provider directly.

Important Notes

  • If SST was prepaid during international shipping but is charged again upon delivery, you may submit your tax payment receipt to Doorzo Customer Support via Customer Tickets for verification.
  • SST applies only to Malaysia's import sales tax. Import duties or other fees, if applicable, will be assessed and collected separately by local carriers or customs authorities (Common categories subject to import duties include skincare products, apparel, footwear, watches, etc.).
  • The final tax amount is determined by Malaysian Customs. Prepaid SST is an estimate, and the actual assessment is subject to customs review.

Disclaimer

  • The above information is based on currently available regulatory guidance. Actual handling may change in accordance with updates to Malaysian tax policies. Please refer to the latest official announcements for the most accurate information.

Singapore – Goods and Services Tax (GST)

Goods and Services Tax (GST) is an indirect tax imposed by the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) on imported goods and local consumption. It applies to eligible imported packages and low-value goods shipped to Singapore.

Policy Background & Effective Rules

  Details
Policy Background Under Singapore tax regulations, goods imported into Singapore are subject to GST. This applies to general imported goods as well as low-value goods.
Scope of Application All international packages shipped to Singapore that meet the taxable conditions may be subject to GST.

Tax Rate & Applicable Threshold

When using Doorzo Priority shipping to Singapore, eligible packages will be charged DDP fees at the time of international shipping payment.

Package Value DDP Fee
Below SGD 400 No DDP fee required. No additional customs duties or GST will be charged locally.
SGD 400 or above Doorzo will collect GST and the customs clearance handling fee on your behalf (together referred to as the DDP fee).

DDP = Package value × 9% GST + SGD 19 customs clearance handling fee

Calculation Basis

  • GST is calculated only based on the total value of the items in the package. The package value refers to the actual discounted purchase amount shown on the invoice. (Example: If a parcel contains 3 figures and the actual purchase amount paid for each item is SGD 120, the total item value is SGD 360.)
  • The following fees are not included in the GST calculation: international shipping fees, service fees, domestic shipping fees within Japan, and other related charges.
  • The item value will be converted into Singapore dollars (SGD) at the applicable exchange rate when the package is shipped internationally.

Important Notes

  • GST is ultimately determined by Singapore Customs and IRAS. The prepaid amount is an estimate calculated by the system, and the actual tax amount shall be subject to the amount confirmed by customs.
  • If duplicate taxation occurs, you may submit a Customer Tickets with the tax payment receipt for verification and assistance.
  • Customs clearance handling fees, advance payment fees, and other related charges may vary by shipping method. Please refer to the amount displayed on the checkout page.
  • If the package contains multiple items, taxes and fees will be calculated based on the overall package information.

Disclaimer

The above information is prepared based on Singapore's current tax and import policies. Actual implementation may vary depending on customs regulations, shipping channels, and policy updates. Please refer to the latest announcements from Singapore Customs and IRAS for the most accurate information.

Canada – Delivered Duty Paid (DDP)

DDP allows you to prepay estimated import duties, regional taxes, and customs clearance-related charges when arranging international shipping. Once the parcel arrives in Canada, the carrier will handle the required customs clearance procedures.

Applicable Shipping Methods

Eligible parcels shipped to Canada using the following shipping methods are subject to DDP charges:
  • ECMS
  • Doorzo Air
*If DDP charges apply, the fee will be displayed on the international shipping payment page and collected together with the international shipping fee.

Fee Details

DDP charges consist of the following two items. Each is calculated and displayed separately, and both are collected together with the international shipping fee.

Fee Item Calculation
Customs Duty Total Package Value × applicable duty rate. The rate is determined by the product category, HS Code, and Canadian import regulations.
Canada Regional Surtax Total Package Value × applicable provincial or territorial rate. Please ensure that the province or territory in the recipient's address is entered correctly to avoid errors in tax calculation.

Customs Duty

Customs duty is calculated based on the category and HS Code of the items in the parcel, as well as Canadian import regulations. The applicable rate is subject to the amount displayed by the system and the final assessment of Canadian customs authorities.

Canada Regional Surtax

Tax rates vary by province and territory, and a regional surtax may apply depending on the recipient's location. The system will automatically apply the appropriate rate based on the province or territory entered in the recipient's address, calculated using the total item value of the parcel.

*Total Package Value refers to the combined actual purchase price of all items in the parcel after discounts. It does not include international shipping fees, service fees, domestic shipping fees within Japan, or other related charges.

Important Notes

  • The final tax amount and customs clearance outcome are determined by Canadian customs authorities. DDP service only collects estimated duties and taxes in advance; the actual amount and clearance outcome remain subject to the final customs assessment.
  • Using the DDP service does not guarantee successful customs clearance. If a parcel is abandoned, returned, or disposed of due to circumstances involving the recipient or a decision by Canadian customs authorities, Doorzo will not be held responsible. In such cases, prepaid DDP charges will be refunded, but the item cost and international shipping fee will not be refunded.
  • Due to customs clearance risks, regulatory restrictions, or carrier requirements, certain items may not be eligible for DDP service or delivery. Please refer to the options displayed by the system and comply with all applicable local regulations.

Disclaimer

The above information is based on currently available information. Procedures may change in response to updates to Canadian customs policies. Please refer to official announcements and the latest applicable regulations.

*For a consolidated package, the total DDP charges will be the sum of the DDP charges calculated for all items in the package.

Additional Fees by Shipping Method

① Japan Post (EMS, Air Mail, Surface Mail, and Air Packet)
Package Value Handling
USD 2,500 or less Subject to prepaid DDP charges. Zonos assists with the calculation, declaration, and payment of the applicable duties and taxes, so the following fees will apply:
  • Postal Clearance Fee — a fixed fee of USD 1.69 per package, covering duty and tax declarations, payments, and related customs clearance data processing by Zonos.
  • Landed Cost Guarantee — charged at 10% of the Base Customs Duty. In return, Zonos assumes the risk of any difference between the estimated and final customs charges: if the actual charges exceed the estimate, Zonos covers the difference and no additional payment is requested; if the actual charges are lower, the difference is not refunded.
More than USD 2,500 DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) applies. After the parcel arrives in the United States, the recipient must complete customs clearance and pay the applicable duties and fees in accordance with the requirements of the local carrier and customs authorities.

② Doorzo Air & ECMS

  • "Item links" refer to the actual product listing pages at the time of purchase. If a single order includes items from multiple links, the count is based on the number of item links rather than the number of orders.
  • The Line Item Fee is charged in USD and converted into JPY using the exchange rate applicable at the time the shipping method is selected. Please refer to the amount shown on the international shipping page for the final fee.
  • The total parcel value refers to the combined actual purchase price of all items in the parcel, including duty-free items.

  • Customs & Abandonment: Prepayment of the DDP fee does not guarantee successful customs clearance. If the parcel is abandoned or disposed of due to the consignee's circumstances or a decision by local customs authorities, Doorzo shall not be liable. In such cases, the prepaid DDP fees (duties, taxes, and handling fees) will be refunded, while the item cost and international shipping fees will not be refunded.
