Import Duties & Taxes

During international shipping, customs duties, GST, and other related taxes may apply depending on the regulations of the destination country or region. Whether these fees are required, as well as the amount and how they are charged, will depend on local customs policies, the shipping method, and the contents of the parcel.

Unless otherwise stated for certain countries or shipping methods below, Doorzo does not collect customs-related fees on behalf of customers. If duties or other customs clearance procedures are required during shipping, the recipient must handle them according to the instructions of local customs or the logistics provider. Any related taxes and fees shall be borne by the recipient.

This section briefly explains the possible taxes and fees involved in Doorzo's international shipping process, including the rules for DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) and GST, to help you better understand the fee structure, estimate shipping costs in advance, and avoid possible delays caused by tax issues.

Malaysia – Sales & Service Tax (SST)

Sales & Service Tax (SST) is imposed on eligible imported goods shipped to Malaysia in accordance with Malaysian tax regulations.

Policy Background & Effective Date

  Details
Policy Background Under Malaysian tax regulations, Low Value Goods (LVG) imported into Malaysia are subject to Sales & Service Tax (SST).
Effective Date This policy applies to eligible parcels shipped on or after January 1, 2026.

Tax Rate & Applicable Threshold

  Details
Tax Rate A 10% SST applies to items with a unit price of MYR 500 or below.
Threshold Determination The unit price is based on the amount shown on the invoice, and will be converted to Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) using the applicable exchange rate at the time international shipping is selected. If the unit price is below MYR 500, 10% SST will be applied to the item value.

Tax Calculation Basis

*SST is calculated solely based on the unit price of each item and does not include international shipping or other related fees.

Unit Price Items
Includes
  • The unit price as shown on the invoice (Example: If a parcel contains three figures priced at MYR 200 each, the total parcel value is MYR 600. However, since each item's unit price is below MYR 500, a 10% SST will be applied to each item.)
  • The amount will be converted to MYR using the applicable exchange rate at the time of international shipment.
  • The invoice item value reflects the actual amount paid after coupon or discount deductions.
Excludes
  • International shipping fees
  • Insurance fees
  • Other delivery-related charges

Payment Method

Collection Method Details
Prepaid Collection For items with a unit price of MYR 500 or below, SST will be collected together with international shipping fees at checkout.
Post-Delivery Collection For items with a unit price above MYR 500, SST will not be collected by Doorzo. If applicable, taxes will be charged by the local delivery company at the time of delivery.
*The recipient must complete payment before the parcel can be released. For questions regarding the amount charged, please contact the local delivery provider directly.

Important Notes

  • If SST was prepaid during international shipping but is charged again upon delivery, you may submit your tax payment receipt to Doorzo Customer Support via Customer Tickets for verification.
  • SST applies only to Malaysia's import sales tax. Import duties or other fees, if applicable, will be assessed and collected separately by local carriers or customs authorities (Common categories subject to import duties include skincare products, apparel, footwear, watches, etc.).
  • The final tax amount is determined by Malaysian Customs. Prepaid SST is an estimate, and the actual assessment is subject to customs review.

Policy Background & Effective Rules

  Details
Policy Background Under Singapore tax regulations, goods imported into Singapore are subject to GST. This applies to general imported goods as well as low-value goods.
Scope of Application All international packages shipped to Singapore that meet the taxable conditions may be subject to GST.

Tax Rate & Applicable Threshold

When using Doorzo Priority shipping to Singapore, eligible packages will be charged DDP fees at the time of international shipping payment.

Package Value DDP Fee
Below SGD 400 No DDP fee required. No additional customs duties or GST will be charged locally.
SGD 400 or above Doorzo will collect GST and the customs clearance handling fee on your behalf (together referred to as the DDP fee).

DDP = Package value × 9% GST + SGD 19 customs clearance handling fee

Calculation Basis

(Example: If a parcel contains 3 figures and the actual purchase amount paid for each item is SGD 120, the total item value is SGD 360.)
  • The following fees are not included in the GST calculation: international shipping fees, service fees, domestic shipping fees within Japan, and other related charges.
  • The item value will be converted into Singapore dollars (SGD) at the applicable exchange rate when the package is shipped internationally.

Important Notes

  • GST is ultimately determined by Singapore Customs and IRAS. The prepaid amount is an estimate calculated by the system, and the actual tax amount shall be subject to the amount confirmed by customs.
  • If duplicate taxation occurs, you may submit a Customer Tickets with the tax payment receipt for verification and assistance.
  • Customs clearance handling fees, advance payment fees, and other related charges may vary by shipping method. Please refer to the amount displayed on the checkout page.

  • Customs & Abandonment: Prepayment of the DDP fee does not guarantee successful customs clearance. If the parcel is abandoned or disposed of due to the consignee's circumstances or a decision by local customs authorities, Doorzo shall not be liable. In such cases, the prepaid DDP fees (duties, taxes, and handling fees) will be refunded, while the item cost and international shipping fees will not be refunded.

United Kingdom – Delivered Duty Paid (DDP)

DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) means that users pay the estimated import VAT, customs duties, and customs clearance fees in advance when arranging international shipping. Once the package arrives in the United Kingdom, the logistics provider will handle the relevant customs clearance procedures.

Applicable Shipping Method

DDP fees apply when using the following shipping method to the United Kingdom:
  • Doorzo Priority - UK

Fee Calculation

Package Value DDP Calculation
Below GBP 135 DDP = VAT + customs clearance handling fee
GBP 135 or more DDP = VAT + customs duty + customs clearance handling fee

Fee Details

Fee Item Details
VAT Calculated at 20% of the total package value. Value Added Tax (VAT) is a consumption tax imposed on goods and services in the United Kingdom. Imported goods that meet the applicable tax requirements are subject to import VAT.
Customs Duty When the total package value is GBP 135 or more, customs duty will be calculated according to the product category, HS code, and applicable UK import regulations.
Customs Clearance Handling Fee A fee of GBP 5 is charged per package. This fee covers customs declarations, document reviews, and other related processing.

Calculation Basis

The package value refers to the total amount actually paid for the products after discounts (For example, if a package contains three figures purchased for GBP 50 each, the total package value is GBP 150). It does not include international shipping fees, service fees, domestic shipping fees within Japan, or other additional charges.

Restrictions

Due to customs clearance risks, legal or regulatory restrictions, or carrier requirements, certain products may not be eligible for DDP service or delivery. Please refer to the options displayed in the system and the applicable local regulations.

Important Notes

  • DDP fees are collected in advance. The final tax amount and customs clearance result are determined by UK customs authorities and are subject to their assessment.
  • Using the DDP service does not guarantee successful customs clearance.
  • If a package is abandoned, returned, or disposed of due to circumstances attributable to the recipient or a decision by local customs authorities, Doorzo will not be liable for any resulting losses. In such cases, the prepaid DDP fees will be refunded. However, the product cost and international shipping fee will not be refunded.
