Fragile Self announce the release of their upcoming album OCD, arriving on 5th September. The album, a culmination of five years of work, was recorded in London, mixed and engineered by Steve D'Agostino & Katia Isakoff, and mastered by Cicely Balston at Abbey Road Studios. The album's title, OCD, operates on multiple levels-both conceptually and physically. Thematically, it delves into cycles of thought, behavior, and compulsion, while it's CD-only first edition underscores the circular nature of obsession itself. OCD takes Fragile Self's music in a more soulful and intimate direction, while retaining it's distinctive sonic identity. The album continues incorporating modular synthesizer improvisations and literary influences, but these elements now recede into the background, making way for something more direct and emotionally raw. At it's core, OCD is an exploration of unfiltered emotion and deep psychological undercurrents. Sonically, it strips away layers of Polish to reveal raw, pre-verbal expressions of the psyche, inviting listeners to confront the depths of their unconscious. Anil Aykan's vocals and lyrics take on a new level of intensity-more expressive, unguarded, and deeply personal, traversing a dark and personal psychological terrain.
