In 2026, MegaHouse’s much-loved Look Up (るかっぷ) line is set to welcome two highly anticipated additions from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: Dōma, one of the Twelve Kizuki, and Shinobu Kocho in her smiling ‘Nikkori’ version.

AmiAmi, the major hobby retailer run by Oami Co., Ltd., is already accepting reservations for both pieces, with release scheduled for late March 2026. While the dates may sound distant, pre-orders are often the only way to secure popular characters in this fast-moving market.

The Look Up

For those unfamiliar, the Look Up series is a collection of small yet carefully styled figures designed to sit neatly on a desk or shelf. Each figure is around 110mm tall and sculpted in a way that makes it appear as though the character is gazing upwards. The effect is subtle, but it changes the relationship between figure and owner. Instead of looking down at a static object, you feel the character is meeting your eyes.

This design choice has proven to be more than a novelty. It creates a sense of connection that resonates particularly well with fans of story-driven anime such as Demon Slayer. The characters are not simply on display; they are, in a sense, sharing space with you.

The series has already included several members of the Demon Slayer cast, from Tanjiro and Nezuko to Akaza. Each release has been met with strong enthusiasm, and the arrival of Dōma, a villain who has fascinated fans since his introduction, has been one of the most requested additions.

Dōma

Dōma, the Upper Rank Two demon known for his unsettling calm and unnerving charm, is not an easy character to capture in figure form. His design blends elegance with menace, and his role in the series is one of the most memorable. The Look Up version opts for an approachable take, placing him in the series’ trademark sitting pose with an upward gaze.

The sculpt maintains his signature appearance while softening the edges enough to make the piece inviting. This is, after all, a figure designed for display in everyday spaces, from home offices to living rooms. At 4,620 yen (including tax), it is positioned in the same accessible price range as previous releases. Collectors will note that his head is movable, allowing for small adjustments to the angle of his gaze – a simple but effective feature that adds to the sense of interaction.

For many fans, Dōma is a character they “love to hate.” The opportunity to bring him into a collection alongside Akaza, his fellow Upper Rank demon, offers both narrative and visual continuity. Displayed together, they create a snapshot of the wider Demon Slayer universe.

Shinobu Kocho

In contrast, Shinobu Kocho has already appeared in the series once before. This second version focuses on her gentle smile – a feature that fans often associate with her calm yet determined personality. Known as the “Nikkori ver.” (literally, “smiling version”), this figure provides an alternative to the earlier release, which portrayed her with a more neutral expression.

The choice may seem small, but it is significant. For collectors, variations in expression allow for personalisation. Some prefer Shinobu’s composed look, while others may gravitate toward the warmth of her smile. Together, they reflect different aspects of her character and provide more options for building a display that resonates emotionally.

Priced at 4,400 yen, the Shinobu figure mirrors the accessible approach of the line. Like Dōma, she is crafted at 110mm in height with a moveable head, making her both consistent in scale and compatible for display alongside previous releases.

◆Collecting as Connection

For fans of Demon Slayer, the battle scenes, emotional arcs, and striking designs all contribute to its popularity. But when it comes to merchandise, it is often the quieter qualities that matter. A figure that seems to look back at you brings a sense of companionship!
