For those who have a little knowledge about anime merchandise, they're likely familiar with the renowned figure manufacturer, Kaiyodo. Kaiyodo is a long-standing enterprise that initially focused on various model products and related merchandise. Additionally, it provided a platform for crafting enthusiasts to exchange ideas and techniques. As the trend for figures emerged in the 1980s, Kaiyodo quickly adapted and dedicated itself to the development of high-quality figures.
Kaiyodo's product line ranges from intricately detailed models that can cost hundreds or even thousands of yen, to capsule toys that can be obtained with just a few hundred yen. They cover a wide range of subjects, from well-known characters like those from the popular Yashima Joint Special Effects series to quirky and humorous pieces. Today, I'll introduce a few of the topic-driven capsule toys from Kaiyodo's collection.
1. Kaiyodo Capsule Q Museum: Zoo
As its name implies, the series is a miniature figure in the shape of weird but cute animals capsuled in an egg. The series includes alpaca that everyone loves and the sometimes-nerdy-and-sometimes-handsome shoebill.
2. Kaiyodo Capsule Q Museum: Buddha Statue
A rather mysterious series, but the detailed craftsmanship is surprisingly excellent which fully speaks of Kaiyodo's superb craftsmanship. Not sure if the punishment would be meted for misplacing the statues…It is said that the statues of the wind and thunder gods are the rarest. The series has been renewed to the 5th edition.
3. Kaiyodo Capsule Q Museum: Lisa Larson
Miniature figure series collaborated with Sweden writer Lisa Larson. As a well-known children's literature writer and ceramist, Larson is widely praised around the world. Although figures are mini, they are nothing short of a real one.
4. Kaiyodo Capsule Q Museum: Sato Kunio's Animals
The 2nd release of Kunio's big hit animals "Let's Pee". Lining up all the little animals ummm…cute…but something doesn't seem right … and yes, there are two editions of them. The first edition includes white bear, orangutan, pig, wild boar, red panda, chinchilla, and the second edition has hippos, panda, penguin (with a little penguin!), cat, rabbit, and frog.
5. Kaiyodo Capsule Q museum: World Ship YAMATO/MUSASHI Edition
This series is a collection of world-famous ships and warships and has exquisite craftsmanship. Free gifts shipboard aircraft and water splash included, which allow users to play simulated naval battles and air combats. Military fans should all have a set as your collection!
Kaiyodo Capsule Q Museum series has many other editions. EVA, southern animals, polar animals, Japanese rare animals, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, Katsushika Hokusai, world ships Shinon, health pests, Hyakki Yagyō and Shinkansen. There is always one for you! Try to get one today by using Doorzo!
Sato Kunio's Animals series are super cute. Just can't help loving it!
